Beach Clean-up in Holgate at the

Forsythe Wildlife Refuge

March 17, 2012

I would like to thank everyone that came out to support the beach clean-up at the Forsythe Wildlife Refuge on Long Beach Island.  We had a lot of people volunteer their time on this project, filling a 20 yd. dumpster and could have filled another 20 yd. dumpster or two.

Miss Virginia Rettig the Forsythe Wildlife Manager was grateful to all that came out to do this clean-up. The New Jersey Beach Buggy Assn. was glad to have headed up the beach clean-up for the first time in 50 years at the refuge.

I would also like to thank the women of the beach buggy assn., for handling the serving of coffee and donuts along with a beach buggy gourmet lunch of hot dogs, beans and chocolate chip cookies made possible by a donation from Greg O’Connel of Merchantville Fishing Club.

Thanks to the many volunteers from different groups like the Long Beach Island Fishing Club, Barnegat Bay Heavers, Barrington Fishing Club, the local Fire Department, N.J.B.B.A members and all other Associations that came to help. We estimated around 100 volunteers to help with this first time project.

Thank You,

Paul Harris, President
