Jeff Paul Scholarship Fund
New Jersey Beach Buggy Association will establish a fund known as the Jeff Paul Scholarship Fund. Named in memory of M. Jeffries Paul. There will be two(2), five hundred dollars ($500) scholarship awards handed out each year to a member or member’s child to further their education. All monies in this fund will be managed by the N.J.B.B.A. Treasurer.

RACHEL PROUTY of Browns Mills NJ is a senior and honor student at Pemberton Township High School. Rachel is the daughter of NJBBA member Angel Prouty #4522 and plans on attending Ramapo University in the fall. She has aspirations of becoming a Grief Specialist Therapist, but, her plans do not stop there. It is her intentions to continue her education after achieving her Bachelors degree to include earning her Masters and Doctorate. Miss Prouty's hobbies include being a member of the high school marching band and color guard.  Rachel's conservation and beach projects include volunteering at:
  • NJBBA's National Hunting & Fishing Day, where she has assisted special needs children for the past four years
  • NJBBA's Annual Children's Surf Fishing Tournament (in 2010, 2011, & 2012)
  • attending numerous Brigantine string fence projects
  • numerous Island Beach State Park clean ups during the past four years.


ETHAN CAPPELLO of Pennington NJ is NJBBA member #5005, the grandson of NJBBA member "Bucktail Joe" Dolobacs and is a senior at Hopewell Valley Central High School. While the college of his choice hasn't yet been announced to the NJBBA, his career objective includes becoming a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Ethan's hobbies and sports activities include baseball, football, ping pong, badminton, photography, collecting sports memorabilia and being an avid movie buff. His conservation and beach projects included participation at Seaside Park's beach clean up, helping Seaside Park residents prepare for Hurricane SANDY, and cleaning up in the aftermath of SANDY. Besides working park time and taking care of his studies, Ethan finds free time to volunteer at:
  • the Hopewell Valley YMCA
  • the Special Olympics
  • St. Baldrick's Children Cancer Fundraiser
  • Student Movement Against Cancer
  • Mastiff Rescue Organizations

The applicant will be required to complete an application for consideration of the Jeff Paul Scholarship Fund. All applications will be decided by a formula set up by the New Jersey Beach buggy Association. There shall be a committee of five (5) determining who the recipient will be.

The following guidelines are to be used in determining the recipient of the scholarship award:

  • Scholastic ability,
  • Civic involvement,
  • Principal recommendation,
  • Personal investment.
  • In case of a tie, the decision of the committee will be final
  • Scholarship Committee will be selected by the following method. One by the N.J.B.B.A. President, two by the Board of Directors, one by the Board of Trustees, and one volunteer chairperson
