NJBBA Presidents Cup

November 9th 2025 - IBSP

Presidents Cup  11-9-2025

NJBBA members will meet in the back lot of Area7 behind the air pumps. Bill Mackintosh #1090 ‘Apple Man’ will be there to sign you in between 6:00 and 7:00 AM. Fishing will start right at 7:00 AM and end at 12 noon. Then we will meet back on the beach at Area 7 by ‘Fisherman’s Walk’ to see who had fish.

Two poles per person, two hooks per pole (circle hooks for bait)

Sharks and skates (junk fish) don’t count, all other fish species should be legal size and in season.  It is your decision to keep a legal fish if you wish, take a picture with a tape measure and date shown before releasing. After meeting back at A7 on the beach, if the weather is nice, we will have some lunch.

Those fishing must be a member in good standing.  The winner will receive a ‘Presidents Cup’ Jacket and a new spinning reel to be presented at the Annual Banquet. Second place will receive a hat & sweatshirt and third place a hat & t-shirt.

There are no judges available for other beaches.

Come on out and enjoy some fishing with us!

NJBBA President's Cup Tournament Nov 7th 2021 - results

A message from the chairman of the President's cup:

There were 20 NJBBA members’ signed up to fish November 7th, 2021 at IBSP. We had a great day except for the Gail winds and the rough surf. It was hard to hold bottom even with 8 ounces.  At the end of the day we had a winner with an 18 inch bluefish that was caught by Rick Ditizio. Congratulations Rick! The winner at LBI was Carl Hartmann who caught a 10 inch Bluefish.  Congratulations Carl! There were no fish caught at Corsin’s or Brigantine.

NJBBA President's Cup Tournament November 3, 2019 results

 sponsored by your Courtesy Patrol.

The 2019 President's Cup Fishing Tournament was open to all NJBBA members on the four areas of Island Beach State Park, LBI, Brigatine and Corson's Inlet State Park. Prizes were offered for the 3 largest fish caught at each area. All fish had to be checked in at the end of the day's fishing - 2:30pm to qualify for the awards. Over 30 participants managed to catch only 2 fish as the fish did not cooperate at all. One fish caught at LBI - an 11" blue was eaten by the fisherman after he caught it and it must have been a "REEL good meal" as he forfeited the 1st place prize of a fishing reel. Rule state the entire fish must be intact at 2:30 pm measuring time.

A special thank you to all that participated and the judges who officiated in this annual event. One can only hope the fish will cooperate at a higher level next year.

The winning fish - a 14" blue fish was caught at Island Beach State Park ironically by NJBBA President Gary Conk Sr.
