Types of Memberships We offer several types of membership, with each has its own set of requirements. General Members are those that pay the regular dues whether new or renewal. General Members enjoy most all association benefits and privileges. Family Members are any person living at the same address, with at least one fully paid General Member and they can join for a 50% discount of the current annual General Member dues. The starting age limit for a Family Member is eight (8). A Family Member still reaps most of the benefits as a General Member. Senior Members are General Members who have ten consecutive years of paid dues and reach the age of 65. Senior Members are considered paid up and enjoy all the benefits and privileges of General Members. Life Members are earned by Officers and Directors for time spent in that office as set by the By-Laws. Honorary Members may be awarded by a majority vote of the Executive Board and Board of Directors to an individual who they deem has earned this recognition through exemplary performance in furthering the goals of the “Association”. Sustaining Members are a paid lifetime membership. The Member can pay for a plaque commemorating the event, receive all the benefits of a General Member and many thanks from the Association for this kind of support. The Member must have been in good standing for the last five years to qualify. For further information see Article 5 of the By-Laws .

Annual fish for fluke contest and bbq The NJBBA had its 3 rd Annual Fluke Contest at IBSP on August 1 st . The Hudson River Fishermen's Association (HRFA) joined us again and shared the cost which makes this a very affordable outing for the NJBBA. A big Thank You to the HRFA for everything! Joe Albanese thought if we got the two organizations together, we could get more members involved. We had 18 attend and 15 fish the contest, we have to do better next year, maybe advertise the event earlier in the year. I can’t say enough about Dennis Palmatier from the Hook House who came thru for us again as always and donated a $150 rod for first place, the HRFA donated a 4000 Sienna reel that went with the rod for first place. Gary Conk Sr. donated the plaque from ‘A-1 JDK Specialties’ for first place. Second and third place had a $25 gift certificate to the Hook House and other apparel for a prize. There were a lot of donated prizes for the raffle, Thanks to Joe Albanese and the HFRA, Pete Musse, Kenny Hollins, Ray Anderson and Valerie Dzindzio for their donations. Doug Barr from the HRFA caught a 16.5 Fluke to take first place. There was probably a couple dozen shorts caught also, Congratulations Doug! We handed out tickets and had a drawing for 2nd and 3rd place. After the fishing was over, we got together and had a barbecue on the beach, Pete Musse and Ray Anderson are our chefs and do a fantastic job! Thanks to Pete & Michelle Musse, Ray & Linda Anderson and Valerie Dzindzio for getting the food, supplies, grills and everything else to make this a great outing! The food was great, you have to be there to appreciate all the hard work that goes into putting something like this together. This event could be really something and we should have plenty more members attend, it is a free event, a kind of a Thank You for volunteering thru the year. ADOPT A BEACH The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Adopt a Beach program fosters volunteer stewardship of the State's coastal beaches and reduces the threat of marine debris to fish and wildlife. The DEP selects two days per year, one in the spring and one in the fall, for coast wide cleanups. Program volunteers adopt beaches for one year, agreeing to clean the beach of litter and debris on designated cleanup days. Adopt a Beach volunteers have been removing marine debris from the State's shorelines since 1993. All cleanups start at 8:00 a.m. Call for information about future dates for cleanups at DEP at (609) 29-BEACH or check the NJ Clean Communities - Adopt a Beach website .

30th Annual Children's Surf Fishing tournament This tournament is FREE, FREE, FREE to all children 16 years of age and under. The kids will receive an event t-shirt and a grab bag full of goodies after attending 5 learning stations. For Information on how you can help be a sponsor or donate prizes, contact: Ken Hollins. United Mobile Access Preservation Association Mission Statement To join in formal organization, all associations that partake in the use and access to coastal, tidal or inland waters and their beaches of the North American continent for recreational purposes and to help promote a reasonable and balanced approach of vehicular access to America’s beaches. To work for the conservation and preservation of the above stated areas: To preserve and encourage the use and enjoyment of these areas and to insure this access for future generations. To educate and promote better relations with the public and to work with all local, state and federal agencies in advancing the ongoing and continued need for access.
